Jo Frost, Host of
Super Nanny
Hailed by the
New York Times
as "fascinating" and "required viewing"; praised by Oprah
Winfrey, David Letterman and Kelly Ripa; acclaimed by
such publications as
Newsweek,
Hollywood Reporter
and
The New Yorker;
and lauded by parents and nannies across America,
Supernanny
is a hit. Jo Frost, as Supernanny, can tame the wildest
toddler, soothe the savage six-year-old and get the most
difficult child to overcome problems with behavior,
sleep, mealtime, potty training and other challenges that
have vexed parents around the world for centuries. After
just three episodes of the show aired in the U.K. in
summer 2004, Jo Frost became Britain's hottest new TV
star and godsend to desperate parents who were dazzled by
her amazing results with unruly children. She debuted in
America in early 2005 and captivated Americans as well
with her practical, no-nonsense style, honed over 16
years of nannying.
Supernanny
is now an international phenomenon; it airs in 47
territories, almost all of them with Frost as Supernanny.
The series was nominated for a People's Choice Award, and
her book,
Supernanny: How to Get the Best from Your
Children
spent 17 weeks on on the
New York Times
bestseller list, hitting #1 for much of that time.

Erlanger
-
Tucked away along this town's southern border, Ridgewood
Drive is normally a quiet, ordinary residential street.
That's why a motor home parked here for the past week
with cables running from it and people going in and out
has the neighbors talking. The RV is being used by a Los
Angeles television crew, here to tape an episode of the
reality show "Supernanny" (8 p.m. Monday, Channels 9,
22).
In the
show, English "Supernanny" Jo Frost reviews tapes of a
family's day-to-day life, then works with parents on how
to deal with their children's unruly behavior. After the
family tries her methods for a few days, Frost revisits
them to see how well her ideas are working. The family
being taped lives in a two-story home at the north end of
the street. Lisa Christy, coordinator for this episode,
said the family was unavailable for interviews. She also
said she could not answer any questions about the
production. Neighbor Julia Phillips, who watches the show
regularly, said it's been exciting for her family to have
the crew here. "My daughter wrote 'Supernanny Rocks' in
the driveway, and the supernanny came over and had her
picture taken with her," said Phillips. "I think it's
pretty neat that they picked our neighborhood." The RV is
parked in front of the home of Jason Glover, who lives
two doors down from the family being taped. In a
neighborhood where many residents park their cars on the
street, Glover said the only inconvenience has been that
the RV takes up three spots. "Other than that, it hasn't
been bad," said Glover. "The people with the show have
been super nice."
The
broadcast of the episode will be this spring.
